Yes, we’re not kidding. There’s actually a cup noodle brand out there that was made in collaboration with a Michelin starred restaurant, and it looks so delicious!
Nissin, the company that makes the world-famous Cup Noodles, collaborated with Japan’s famous Nakiryu restaurant to create Dandan noodles, which is the restaurant’s signature dish that earned it the highly-coveted Michelin star.
These noodles are part of Nissin’s Signature Restaurant Series, where they collaborate with restaurants from all over the nation to recreate cheaper versions of their best dishes.
They’re pretty close to the authentic Dandan noodles, too. According to Rocket News, the noodles have a mild chicken and sesame flavour and also a good amount of sourness and spiciness for those of you who can’t live without spice. Ugh, they look so good! *drools*
They even have the same texture as the authentic Nakiryu noodles. Check out this side-by-side comparison! (Left: Nissin’s version; Right: original Nakiryu noodles).
The Dandan noodles are priced at an affordable 200 yen (approx. RM7). Unfortunately, they’re only available in Japan and the only other way for you to get your hands on it is to beg any of your friends heading to Japan to buy one for you!
We’re sure you can easily find these noodles on websites like eBay and other stores that ship to Malaysia. Although, we’re sure the delivery time for that could take a while.
Oh well, let’s hope Nissin decides to bring these amazing noodles over to our side of the globe soon. In the meantime, we’ll just eat some Maggi Mee and Cup Noodles to help satisfy our cravings!
