Everyone knows that there is a new logo for our Visit Malaysia 2020 campaign. Look at how beautiful it is.
A day after the logo was launched, there were a few people circulating a comparison between the logo and the logo of a certain Hornbill Studios. According to The Star, these people changed up the hornbill on the real logo with another logo that can be found on stock image sites to convince some that the newly announced Visit Malaysia 2020 logo was actually plagiarised.
Looks very similar right? But when we compare it to the original one, we can definitely see that they have changed the hornbill so that it looks like plagiarism. That seems kind of malicious to us! Why go out of their way to do such a thing?
Culture, Arts and Tourism Minister Datuk Mohamaddin Ketapi has said that the logo is a completely original work. He trusts in the designer of the logo, Alfred Phua, as he believes that a first-class degree holder would not humiliate himself by copying other people’s work, only people who are not clever will resort to imitating others. #word
So there we have it, let’s all put a rest to the rumours since they have been proven false! Remember that rumours no matter the degree of truth are still hurtful to the people involved.
