This is the news that all Malaysians have been praying for!
The fireman who was severely injured in the Seafield temple riot has reacted positively in the National Heart Institute of Malaysia (IJN) earlier today as he was able to react according to the doctors’ instructions and is regaining consciousness.
Since news of the rescuer being gravely hurt during the riot went viral, many Malaysians have shown their support for him, praying that he’ll recover from his critical injuries.
According to the latest statement issued by IJN, 24-year-old Muhammad Adib Mohd Kassim is now able to react to a few verbal instructions but he is still given sedatives in order to help his internal organs recover.
“He is relying less on the medicine for his liver and the (role played by) Extracorporeal Membrane Oxygenation (ECMO) is reduced as well.
“However, he still needs extensive treatment for his kidneys and he is still kept in a coma (to help his recovery),” IJN said.
The patient was transferred to IJN last night (28 November) and has since been placed in the ICU. He has reacted positively to the Extra Corporeal Membrane Oxygenation (ECMO) system which gives him full cardiopulmonary support.
The system helps to reduce the activities of the heart and lungs thus giving the organs more room for recovery, according to Astro Awani.
We pray for his speedy recovery and hopefully, the culprits who are responsible for this will be apprehended soon. Stay strong, Adib!
