With pretty privilege being a real thing, many are either worried or jaded at how they are treated during their everyday interactions from ordering food at restaurants to applying for jobs.

Hence is why a company in China is making their job applicants were masks to ensure that they are not discriminated based on their appearance.

According to a report by Oddity Central, the company, Chengdu Ant Logistics; have since been praised for their recruitment process, where they have their applicants wear full face masks so that recruiters cannot discriminate them based on their looks.

This process has also gone viral, as pictures showing applicants wearing the masks as their wait for their turn to be interviewed.

Apparently, the recruiters are also made to wear the masks!

Chengdu Ant Logistics shared that the images are from their recent, biannual recruitment fair, and that the masks were a means to eliminate bias based on looks.

They added that the bizarre yet admirable recruitment method was implemented to reduce the candidates’ stress levels and to emphasize the fact that the company values individuals’ abilities over appearances.

This can also reduce social phobia and anxiety, as applicants can hide behind the mask until they are selected based on their capabilities and potential.

Would you consider wearing a mask when getting interviewed for a job? Do feel free to share your thoughts in the comment section.
