For the sake of having fair skin, a woman in Indonesia unknowingly traded her life after taking a whitening injection from an unregistered beauty salon.

Taking to his TikTok account @jaykemruatak, the woman’s husband, Jay, shared what happened to his wife, who was in good health before getting the skin-whitening injection last weekend. In his video, Jay said his wife returned home in an e-hailing ride because she had no energy to drive.

Her condition deteriorated, and she breathed her last on Monday

This was just 48 hours after getting the injection.

Jay did not specifically mention the side effects that his wife experienced but described it as “frightening”. When the deceased woman’s family, including Jay, confronted the management of the beauty salon to take responsibility, they allegedly refused.

“They blamed my wife instead.”

“The side effects that my wife had to experience were scary. I hope no one else has to suffer a similar fate just because they want to take a shortcut to look beautiful.”

Jay decided to share the story in response to netizens who had been wondering about the death of his wife.

In a report by Indonesian media, the police said they did not receive any reports about the case. However, Jay’s video went viral, which led the police to start an investigation into the matter.

Unfortunately, since the deceased has been buried, the police said they could only confirm her cause of death if they could exhume her body.

“I cannot provide information on the cause of death, considering that the answer can only be obtained from the results of the forensic examination.”

Regardless, taking medications or injections for beauty purposes is something you should consult with professionals before making any decisions.
