Adjusting to a new environment can be a daunting experience for any person who is taken out of their element. But little did we know, animals need time settling into a new space just as much as humans do.
No situation was better exemplified than that by TikTok user Yuni, who shared what it was like for her two-month old kitten named Leo when he experienced what it was like to live in a kampung for the first time.
In a clip uploaded to her TikTok account @oohyvnii, Yuni brought Leo to her kampung, where he got the chance to explore the grounds. Initially excited to run around, Leo walked slowly on the grass, uncomfortably lifting his paw high in the air with every step he took.
At one point, Leo came across a plastic cup container and daintily touched it, not certain about what it was. Leo also playfully bounced around a box while sitting on a straw plastic carpet, puzzled by what he was looking at for the moment.
Speaking to WORLD OF BUZZ, Yuni stated that Leo’s move to her kampung in Segamat, Johor, is intended to be a permanent one, though he has been adjusting quite well.
“He is comfortable now, and at the beginning, I let him look around. He’s made some friends with the other cats around the kampung, and was fierce at first. But after awhile, he became more affectionate when he got used to the house,” said Yuni to WORLD OF BUZZ.
Garnering a massive response on the platform, many TikTok users also commented on how Leo probably had a culture shock after experiencing kampung life for the first time, as seen by the way he walked around.
“He’s so cute! Just like a baby discovering how to walk on the ground for the first time,” wrote one user.
Nevertheless, multiple users also mentioned how their cats also experienced similar things when they brought their kittens to a village or smaller town for the first time.
“When he comes back, his feet will be stained brown for sure. My cat was white when we first got him, but now he’s brown at certain places,” light-heartedly penned another user.

We can’t lie, most city-going humans would probably react the same way as Leo too.
