With Coldplay’s concert on the horizon for Malaysia, the British pop-rock band has been successfully touring around the globe for their world tour that began in 2022 titled Music of The Spheres.

Having recently performed in Jakarta, Indonesia, many fans were highly impressed, not only by the band’s performance, but their candour when interacting with the audience.

Such an instance was caught by Indonesian writer and automotive enthusiast Alitt Susanto, in a video he posted to his TikTok account @alittsusanto, during the concert. In the clip, the concert goer recorded a moment when the lead singer of Coldplay, Chris Martin, decided to melodically read an Indonesian poem to the crowd, otherwise known as a pantun.

“Hari Selasa, ujian fisika, giat belajar biar lulus. Apa khabar, kota Jakarta, boleh dong pinjam seratus?” sang the artiste.

With Martin bursting out in laughter immediately after finishing the sentence, the entire crowd cheered for the singer, for doing a great job reading the pantun.

Garnering nothing but light-hearted banter by other Indonesians in the comments section, many were impressed and made funny gestures towards Martin.

“Now who taught Chris to read this pantun?” jokingly penned one user.

Here’s hoping that Chris Martin does something similar for Coldplay’s concert in Malaysia next week!
