Datuk Redzuawan Ismail, a.k.a. Chef Wan is one of our national treasures. Being straightforward and unapologetic about his comments is his iconic trademark, and he’s at it again during a recent event.

Last week, Chef Wan was invited as a guest to a high society dinner hosted by the South Korean Ambassador, according to Coconuts KL.

When a unique-looking dessert was served, he was rather surprised by its appearance and decided to share his first impression of the peculiar figure on Instagram.

Here’s what he said.

“Here’s our dessert, it looks outstanding. Can you guess what it is?

“It looks very sacred. The chef is so brilliant!

“The Dato sitting across also asked me, ‘What is your interpretation of this, Chef Wan?’

“I whispered to him discreetly saying, “I think it’s a Korean Penis Head!”

His not-so-discreet description about the dessert made everyone at the table laugh. Turns out, he was right about it though! The chef later revealed that the dessert was indeed made to look like the God of fertility!

He continued saying,

“No wonder the head looks weird. It tasted like Japanese green tea ice cream, and it’s actually very delicious.”

Chef Wan’s followers on Instagram were amused by his boldness, and some pointed him to the right direction – if he wanted to see the real God of fertility statue in person, that is.

“Chef, you should go to Jeju Island, there’s plenty of these statues there,” a netizen said.

“Of course, the dessert was very delicious,” another cheeky netizen commented.

Just keep doing what you’re doing, Chef Wan! You rock!

What’re your thoughts about this dessert?
