An 89-year-old man accidentally rammed his Perodua Myvi into a mixed rice restaurant in Ipoh, Perak, yesterday (September 26) at 11:20am.

According to a report by Sin Chew Daily, it is believed that the man had wrongly stepped on the accelerator when the crash happened. Thankfully, no one was hurt in the incident, including the elderly man’s wife who was in the car.

At the time of the incident, the elderly man’s car had stopped in the middle of the road with the door open before it suddenly lurched forward into the mixed rice shop, while also hitting a motorcycle.

In images displayed from the incident, the Perodua Myvi could be seen after it had crashed into the mixed rice shop and collided with the bain-marie.

An act of kindness.

Rather than getting angry about the incident, the mixed rice shop operator noticed how shaken up the elderly couple was and offered them a complimentary meal while the police arrived to take their statement!

The elderly couple could be seen eating the meal served to them by the mixed rice shop operator while speaking to the police.

Throughout all of this, the mixed rice shop also remained operational, with customers still coming in to purchase meals as usual.

The mixed rice shop operator’s kindness and calmness in the situation should truly be exemplified.
