The 21st day of the first month of the Lunar calendar is a big deal for the Chinese in Southeast Asia. Usually, a parade named the Chingay parade will be held on this day.
The Chingay parade was held on March 1 this year in Johor, devotees joined in and with the sheer amount of people, many double and triple parked at the side of the road.
Some people left early and when they tried to exit, they found that there was a specific car that was blocking everyone. Even after honking for an extended amount of time, no one came to move their vehicle.
Hence, a group of Malaysians were trying to lift the car but to no avail. They then recruited the help of others who were around and after shaking the vehicle for a while, it seemed that the car owner was nearby and the car door could be opened.
Someone went into the driver’s seat and the rest pushed the car forward into another parking spot.
As the position of the car has changed, it became easier for other people to leave the place. A woman managed to capture this on her Facebook livestream.
“I understand that we’re all joining in the parade and that there are very little parking here but please don’t simply park your cars.”
In the later parts of the video, the same group of men were seen helping the cars that wanted to exit while some of them went to inform the police that they moved the black car.
The woman also clarified that a majority of the cars were double/triple parked but the black car was parked at an intersection which blocked the others from moving.
Well, with the sheer amount of people that join in, it is certainly a good idea for the organisers to work with the city council and also the places around it for parking spaces.
