Home renovations can be pretty expensive, time-consuming, and messy, all to make our homes more comfortable or enjoyable. But sometimes, things can get a bit out of hand with renovation projects.

In a recent TikTok video, @ppim.official decided to showcase a ‘unique’ renovation done to a flat house. It involved three different levels of houses making unauthorised modifications by adding to the side of the flat in question.

From the ground floor to the third floor, it appears that they decided to extend the side of the house, presumably to increase the space in their individual homes. Moreover, the residents went to the extent of installing balconies in the additional space.

It was reported that the unauthorised modifications took place in the flat area of Kelumpuk Kemunting in Keramat Wangsa.

“Why didn’t authorities take any action?”

PPIM was puzzled as to why the authorities were unaware of the illegal construction, despite its location in a roadside area.

The caption of the post reads,

“It’s quite astounding. They’ve extended their homes up to three levels. Despite being clearly visible from the roadside, how is it possible that the authorities never noticed and took action? Usually, when no action is taken, that’s why people dare to continue making these unauthorised renovations, extending the house up to three levels.”

Netizens started flooding the comment section to share their thoughts on the situation.

“The authorities said they didn’t take action because no one reported it.”

“If you have a significant amount of money, it’s better to invest in a larger house rather than renovating a flat.”

“The authorities seems too busy handing out parking tickets to parked cars.”

Despite being an unauthorised modification, it’s safe to say they really went above and beyond with the renovation.
