Everyone has a happy place and when life hits us hard, we go where (or to whom) makes us happy to temporarily recharge ourselves. If you’re having trouble figuring out a happy place, the Ministry of Housing and Local Government (KPKT) has an idea for you.
Look no further than Cameron Highlands in Pahang. What better place than a cold, breezy night with yourself, and loved ones, right?
In a Facebook post by KPKT recently, the ministry explained one of the bogging questions on everyone’s mind. Why Cameron Highlands, and how?
“Among the main contributors to the happiness of the residents are the quality of services by the local authorities (PBT), such as environmental hygiene care, solid management waste, and regular garbage collection.”
If Cameron Highland doesn’t work for you, the list by KPKT shows another town in Kelantan – Jeli, which is ranked as the 2nd happiest town in Malaysia for 2024.
The happiness index, which was analysed by PLANMalaysia includes 14 evaluation components including the environment, local leaders, local authority services (PBT), basic infrastructure, work pleasure and neighbor relations, and stress levels.
Here’s a list of the towns in Malaysia that made it to the happiest places in our country for this year.
“Happy with the traffic?”
Netizens, on the other hand, are divided with Cameron Highlands being the happiest city in Malaysia for this year.
Those who agreed are the ones who enjoy the serenity and the breezy weather and those who are not onboard with it couldn’t help but to rant about the traffic.
“The weather is still hot but the cold wind helps. Just like in overseas.”
“Yes. I am so calm whenever I am there.”
“You have to be strong in navigating the traffic, then you’ll be happy.”
“It’s cold there you don’t even need an air-conditioner.”
“Friday, Saturday and Sunday are the most painful in Cameron.”
“I think the happy ones are those who earn a living there, especially during school holiday season.”
To those who are staying in Cameron, and those residents in the mentioned towns, are you as happy as the ranking? Do share with us what you feel about your place!
