Do you have a preference for sweetmeats instead of sweet treats? This cake might be perfect for you.
Contrary to popular belief, not everybody likes birthday cakes, especially if you aren’t a fan of desserts. If you’re more of a meat lover, this roasted chicken, char siew, and siew yoke cake is definitely something you should check out!
Once a former chef at Hilton Hotel in Singapore, Louis Tan is a successful hawker stall owner and the mastermind behind this innovative cross between chicken rice and birthday cakes.
According to 8 Days, customers can choose their cakes to be customised in a variety of meat combinations such as steamed chicken, roast chicken, roast pork belly, and pork belly char siew that is served on top of a bed of fragrant rice.
But that’s not all. Tan told the publication that a new addition will be arriving on the menu and is set to feature a roast duck option!
Tan first decided to make the cakes a permanent menu item after Singapore’s Circuit Breaker. The cakes come in three sizes following the number of pax below:
- Four pax -SGD48 (RM146.42)
- Six pax -SGD68 (RM207.41)
- Eight pax -SGD88 (RM268.42)
Aside from the range of delicious-looking meats, the cakes are also topped with an arrangement of lettuce and cherry tomatoes to complete the look. Just take a look at some of these mouth-watering pictures of the chicken rice cakes!
Unfortunately, these magical meat combination cakes are only available in Singapore for now. But here’s hoping they might make their way here soon! Would you guys buy this cake if it was available in Malaysia?
