In today’s Budget 2026 presentation (10 October) by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim in Parliament, he announced that the government is proposing vehicle tax exemptions in Langkawi and Labuan be limited to vehicles valued not exceeding RM300,000.

This change will be enforced effective 1 January 2026.

This is to prevent luxury vehicle owners from taking advantage of vehicle tax exemptions in Langkawi and Labuan.

Do stay tuned for more updates.
