This is already common knowledge the emergency lane is meant for safety and emergencies, not for personal shortcuts when you’re in a pickle.
Taking to social media, a Bezza driver did just that when he took it upon himself to educate a Singaporean driver on the proper use of the emergency lane.
In the video, a black Mazda with a Singaporean-registered plate can be seen impatiently driving through heavy traffic, likely due to the long weekend Malaysians are currently enjoying.
Trying to beat the jam, the Mazda driver swerved to the left and attempted to cut the queue via the emergency lane.
Realising this, the Bezza driver quickly swerved left as well, blocking the Mazda and stopping it in its tracks.

Praised by netizens
In the comments section, the Bezza driver revealed his identity and received praise from fellow drivers.
“You are the best. If I was there, I’d join in as well.”
“I would join you too, but I sometimes fail to differentiate between SG plates and Malaysian plates,” said a user.
One netizen even shared a tip on how to tell the difference between Malaysian and Singaporean plates.
“If the ‘S’ looks fancy, it’s almost certainly a Malaysian plate. If the ‘S’ is huge and ugly, it’s Singaporean.”
