It is definitely an unsafe world out there for women as not only do they get harassed in public, but they also have to face the potential of getting harassed online.

Recently, Bentong MP Young Syefura Othman, more popularly known as Rara, shared images of her visit to Bukit Tinggi, an area which was devastated by flash floods.

In her post she wrote, “From Parliament today, I went to Bukit Tinggi to visit the disaster area with Deputy Minister KETSA. It happened to rain during the site visit and we could see for ourselves that the situation was getting worse.”

During the visit, Rara was wearing a rain coat on top of her baju kurung. Although it may seem to be innocent enough, a netizen managed to look at her outfit in the wrong way and proceeded to leave obscene comments on it.

In the netizen’s comment, they wrote, “So nice to see her so wet due to the rain. Makes me horny. If I have her we wouldn’t stop (having sex) from night to next evening until both of us can’t take it anymore.”

Disgusting behaviour

The netizen’s comment captured the attention of Rara herself who took to Twitter to slam the man.

In her tweet she wrote, “Even wearing like this, I still get obscene comments.”

Netizens also took to the comments section to condemn the netizen for his inappropriate comment.

“Moral of the story is, even if you wear and cover all of your aurat, there is no point as men can’t seem to control their impulse. It’s not the fault of women at all.”

“I also face sexual harassment when I wear like this,” shared a netizen.

Another user commented, “She literally covered herself from head to toe?? And I still don’t understand why people (are) still blaming (her) for not covering (their) aurat properly? I feel bad for sexual assault victims.”

We hope that netizens keep their thoughts to themselves and refrain from posting inappropriate comments regarding the outfits or bodies of others.
