A man in Tangkak, Johor, was recently arrested by PDRM after he was suspected of murdering his wife and attempting to set his in-laws’ house on fire.
At the court, the man wailed and chanted religious phrases before remaining calm a minute later. According to the Tangkak district police chief, Superintendent Roslan Mohd Talib said the motive behind the murder was family problems.
The suspect slit the victim’s throat after the latter constantly brought up past issues that led to arguments.

Roslan added that the suspect had a criminal record back in 2017 under Section 427 of the Penal Code for causing mischief, for which he was fined RM1,800.
“We have yet to record statements from the witnesses, and we are waiting for the autopsy report. We will keep the matter updated,” Roslan said.
He also confirmed that the slash wound on the victim’s throat was the cause of death. The matter is now being investigated under Sections 320 and 435 of the Penal Code for murder and arson.
“I could’ve accepted it if she died due to illness”
Junus Kassim, the victim’s 74-year-old father, admitted that it is tough for him to accept his daughter’s death, especially when she left in such a tragic way.
“She died in such a horrific way. That’s why I cannot accept it,” Junus told the media after seeing his daughter for the last time before she was buried last night (June 4).
