The Form 3 Assessment (PT3) will make a comeback in 2027, as announced in the National Education Plan 2026-2035 today (20 January).

Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim confirmed this during a live session, saying that PT3 will cover five core subjects, including Bahasa Malaysia (BM), English, Mathematics, Science, and History.

Anwar also confirmed that the Ministry of Education will introduce a Primary Four (Standard 4) assessment starting this year, covering the same five subjects and administered by the Malaysian Examinations Board (LPM).

He added that all schools across different education streams (including international, religious, and Unified Examination Certificate (UEC) schools) must take BM and History as part of the Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM).

The education reform aims to create a fairer and more competitive future for children, grounded in strong values.

He also noted that this move will help settle the language controversy, so concerns about public university entry requirements related to language will no longer be an issue.
