There are a bunch of cool gadgets available in the market. But enough about smart phones, (because practically almost everyone has them), we need newer and more awesome technology! It’s the month of giving and what better time to spend money for yourself? Or even your loved one if you’re feeling generous. Ps, it’d make the best Christmas gift.

We take you to crowdfunding projects like Kickstarter and Indiegogo, because that’s the place where you can get first hand grabs to newest products at discounted rates. Trust me, when they end up at retail stores, you’d wish you bought them when you had the chance. Happened to me for the Oculus Rift crowdfunding *cries*.

Now check out these bad babies out:

DISCLAIMER: Reading this may lead to spending money. But there will be no regrets.

1. ViDi Action Camera

You’ve heard about GoPros right? Well ViDi is like that, an action camera for you to record any time, any where. Only, the company designed ViDi to be built as a high grade camera at an affordable price so every one can own one.

The GoPro Hero 4 is sold at about RM1,699 while ViDi well, is priced at only $89 (about RM375). If you think cheaper means it’s lower quality, think again. The team has built a solid action camera, and the $89 pledge includes a waterproof camera case, SD card, selfie stick, bicycle mount and helmet mount! Plus it’s pre-charged so you can use it right after you get it. It’s super cool.

Check out their video below:

The creators guarantee ViDi by Christmas so you may want to check them out here and grab the last 490 available stocks before they run out.

HeLi-on charging an iPhone 6

HeLi-on is the world’s most compact solar charger. That’s right, you’ll be the coolest one around town while you charge your dying phone with a solar powered powerbank. It fits into your pocket, and the solar panel can be rolled out when needed.

Video demonstration of HeLi-on rolling in and pulling out

Inside HeLi-on there is a powerful solar panel and a battery, so it can both generate and store energy. This means if you’ve any excess solar energy that you didn’t use, it will be stored into the battery for you to use it when the Sun’s not out! Pretty useful epecially for a country as hot as Malaysia.

The powerful solar charger is going at $90 (RM379) and is probably worthwhile in the long run. Check out more details on the cool HeLi-on here.
