Ampang Jaya District Police Chief, Assistant Commissioner Mohd Azam Ismail, said the incident occurred at around 4:15 PM when the 67-year-old SUV driver was attempting to enter a parking space designated for people with disabilities.

He explained that the man had accidentally pressed the accelerator pedal, which caused the vehicle to lose control and speed forward unexpectedly.

“The vehicle then veered into the MPAJ food court area and collided with several pieces of equipment. Fortunately, the crash only resulted in damage to the vehicle and some property,” he said.

He added that the case is currently being investigated under Rule 10 LN166/59, and confirmed that no injuries were reported.
