The Korean pop scene has seen many idols and many of them have made an impact on our lives. They changed the way we look at music and life in general. While some may say that K-pop isn’t real music (whether they are hatin’ or nah), it’s undeniable that these boy/girl bands have taken over the world by storm.

From Blackpink performing in Coachella to BTS slaying in the BBMAs (Billboard Music Awards), the k-pop act brings their A-game wherever they go in the world!

Therefore, it’s no doubt that this K-pop boyband too is one of the best bands in the world and they are none other than the sensational Monsta X.

5 Things You Didn't Know About Monsta X Who Is Taking Over The World By Storm - WORLD OF BUZZ 1

FYI, Monsta X consists of seven members – Shownu, Wonho, Minhyuk, Kihyun, Hyungwon, Jooheon and I.M. – and they debuted on 14 May 2015. They have signed under Starship Entertainment as well as US label Maverick Agency.

Besides bangers like Shine Forever and Rush, here are FIVE more reasons why these guys are the best boyband to have come out of the K-pop industry.

1. Monsta X appeared in a We Bare Bears episode

Let’s be honest, how many times have we got excited over the appearance of our favourite celebrities on cartoons? Answer: Many times!

It’s an honour for any artist to appear in an iconic cartoon because, in a way, these celebs are “immortalised” through animation. Thus, Monsta X was lucky enough to have appeared on We Bare Bears which is a show about three bears – a grizzly bear, a panda and an arctic bear – with a goal to become part of the human society.

The show was created by Daniel Chong for Cartoon Network but this cute series is also available on Netflix.

Monsta X appeared on the 44th episode, named “Panda’s Birthday” on the fourth season of We Bare Bears. During the episode, Grizzly and Ice Bear try to surprise Panda with the K-pop group, Monsta X, for its birthday.

Looks like even Bare Brothers can’t resist the charm of Monsta X!

2. They won 27 awards & was nominated for Teen Choice Awards for International Artist

Even though they lost the TCA to BTS, but the boys still gained some rightfully deserved attention after this amazing nomination. Plus, they still managed to build an impressive career as they won 27 awards after their first album.

Here are some of the recent awards they have won in 2018 and 2019:

  • 2018 Asia Artist Awards – Artist of the Year (Music) & Best Icon Award (Singer)
  • 2018 Soribada Best K-Music Awards – Bonsang Award Won/New Hallyu Artist Award
  • 2018 Mnet Asian Music Awards – Worldwide Fans’ Choice Top 10/Style in Music
  • 2019 Golden Disc Award – Disc Bonsang
  • 2019 Seoul Music Awards – Bonsang Award
  • 2019 The Fact Music Awards – Artist of the Year/Best Performer

Whoa, looks like they really do have an impressive achievement!

3. They debuted The Clan Pt. 2.5: The Final Chapter at No.1 on Billboard’s World Albums Chart

Of course winning awards is every artist’s goal but debuting number one on Billboard is a dream come true.

Well, this dream came true for Monsta X when their full-length album, The Clan Pt. 2.5: The Final Chapter debuted at no 1 on Billboard’s World Albums Chart.

On top of that, their title track, Beautiful, debuted at No 4 on Billboard’s World Digital Song Sales Chart. Whoa, amazing!

4. Monsta X is the first K-pop group to have performed in the iHeart Jingle Ball 2018

Adding on to their amazing achievements, Monsta X is the first-ever K-pop group to have had the opportunity to put on a show in the iHeart Jingle Ball 2018, which is an annual concert tour series organised by iHeart Media.

They participated in five concert events all across the United States on 12 December 2018 and they were joined by Korean solo acts – BoA and Gangnam Style-fame Psy.

5. They did a collaboration with Steve Aoki for an English version of their song

This is probably one of their biggest collaboration because Steve Aoki has worked with artists like Fall Out Boy, Linkin Park and even, BTS.

Monsta X joined hands with the biggest DJ of the current times to release the English version of their Korean song, “Play it Cool”. The Grammy-winning producer was quoted by Billboard as saying,

“Monsta X is one of those powerhouse groups that set the bar very high. Their voices stay with you long after the song is over, and on this track, they sang so profoundly that all we had to do was focus on the story we were telling.”

Certainly, with all these amazing achievements, it’s pretty obvious that Monsta X is a force to be reckoned with and they are all set for world domination. So, we hope that the boys will only continue to soar higher and conquer the music industry.
