4 people, including a foreign woman, were forced to order e-hailing rides to continue their journeys home after their luxury vehicles were seized by the Road Transport Department (JPJ) last night (August 6).
According to a report by Kosmo!, the seizures were made after their vehicles’ road tax were discovered to be expired, during the Ops Pengarah Jabatan Pengangkutan (JPJ) Selangor that was conducted in Shah Alam from 8:30pm onwards.
The foreign woman mentioned above is a 41-year-old Chinese national who shared that she was on her way to her home in Bukit Jalil when the road tax of the luxury Mercedes-Benz she was driving was found to have expired a year ago.

The woman, who entered the country last year and married a local man, was also found not to have a driver’s license.
A local 25-year-old man also had his luxury vehicle, a Toyota Vellfire, seized as it too had an expired road tax. He explained that his brother had purchased the MPV only 3 months ago by extending the vehicle loan payment from the previous owner.
“We have previously informed the original owner to renew the road tax. However, he gave the reason that he could not do so because there was a summons,” the man added.
