A 57-year-old man was found dead in the kitchen of his house in Ipoh last night (June 24), and his 30-year-old son claimed to have found the body.
Around 12:15 AM today (June 25), the son was arrested outside the house as a suspect.
The deceased, who worked part-time as a health product seller, lived together with the suspect, who said he received the last text from his father at 2:40 PM yesterday.

After questioning the suspect, he told the police that the front gate was closed, but the grille door was opened along with the windows when he returned home. According to him, the house was in a mess as the couch was out of place. He then claimed to have walked into the kitchen, where he found his father lying in a pool of blood.
Ipoh district police chief, Assistant Commissioner Abang Zainal Abidin, said no valuable items were reported missing from the scene, reported Kosmo and Malaysia Gazette.

The police, however, found a small, 22CM knife believed to be the murder weapon near the sink, which had been washed.
The deceased was stabbed in his stomach, and the police also found a slicing mark on his right chest. The matter is now being investigated under Section 302 of the Penal Code for murder, and the suspect will be under police custody for 7 days.
