A total of 28 people were confirmed to be infected with Covid-19 after attending a wedding ceremony in Kampung Orang Asli Langkap near Ipoh.
Based on a report by Sinar Harian, the Chairman of the Kuala Pilah District Safety and Disaster Management Committee (JKPBD), Mohd Faizal Badul Manap, shared that a close contact screening of 44 people was conducted on 4 and 5 October.
“The screening results found 28 people were positive and 16 were negative,”
“This case involves seven family members who attended a wedding ceremony on 26 September in the village. The individuals screened involved family members and village guests who attended the wedding,” he said.
Out of the 28 individuals confirmed positive, a total of 12 people were referred to the Covid-19 Low-Risk Quarantine and Treatment Centre (PKRC) and another 16 were referred to the Tampin Hospital for further treatment.
All families who underwent quarantine were given food supply assistance by the Social Welfare Department.
He added that the vaccination program will continue to control the spread of Covid-19 in the aboriginal villages.
