Curiosity kills the cat, but in this case, a man’s curiosity brings him to jail.

A 24-year-old “ghostbuster” in Johor has been sentenced to 3 months in jail after he was found guilty of trespassing into a building on Saturday (December 21).

He was there to look for paranormal activity and in search of ghosts.

The car wash assistant, Muhammad Haikal Mesrol, pleaded guilty when the charge was read to him in the Magistrate Court yesterday (December 26) and admitted to trespassing into an old building belonging to a 66-year-old manager on December 21 around 7: 10 AM, reported Malaysia Gazette.

The owner of the building in Plaza Wira Court reported the matter to the police, who then arrested Haikal. PDRM also said the gate of the building was initially barricaded with wooden planks, but Haikal took them down so that he could enter the building.

Haikal was charged under Section 447 of the Penal Code (trespassing), which could get him jail time of up to 6 months, or a fine of RM3,000, or both.

He started his prison sentence yesterday.

It may be fun to get onto some adventures at times, but the rules and laws are always meant to be adhered to.
