Currently, the most famous person in Malaysia is the 19-year-old who drove against traffic at high speed which killed a newlywed.
The police even stated that she was high on methamphetamine initially. However, they later retracted that statement and said that it was actually amphetamine.
Amphetamine is a LEGAL drug typically used to treat people with Attention Deficit Hyperactive Disorder (ADHD) which is a psychological disorder the teenager most likely has.
According to Free Malaysia Today, the young lady who drove against traffic along the North-South Expressway actually carries an ‘OKU’ Card (disabled person’s card) which was issued by the Welfare Department.
A photo of the card went viral on social media and it stated that she has a learning disability.
The Penang Welfare Department told said they issued the card to her in 2011.
“Doctors recommended her to go through a special education programme when she was in Form One.”
The horrendous accident has left Malaysians outraged as everyone initially thought she was abusing drugs which led to her being extremely reckless.
However, now that news of her learning disability and use of amphetamine, a legal drug, has been revealed, many netizens were on the fence about her case.
Some felt sorry for her as she was receiving a massive verbal bashing from the whole nation.
“Even though she undoubtedly did something wrong, she doesn’t deserve all the terrible threats online.”
Other netizens were unfazed by her condition and instead questioned her ability to get a driving license in the first place.
Some ruthless netizens even went as far as to judge her disability. Not cool man!
Regardless of whatever the circumstance was, let us not spread anymore hate and leave it to the judge.
