Girls, do be careful when you are trying on clothes in fitting rooms! That’s because perverts could be lurking and just waiting for the right opportunity to prey on unsuspecting victims.

Recently, a Malaysian girl in Johor shared a scary encounter she had when she saw a Peeping Tom taking videos of another girl who was trying on clothes in a fitting room, according to China Press. It is believed that this incident happened around 1pm at a popular fashion chain store located in a new shopping mall in Johor Bahru.

She said that she was standing outside the fitting room waiting for her sister and idly looking around when she saw a hand holding a mobile phone over the barrier separating the rooms. Although the barrier was quite high, there was a stool in every room and it is believed that the person stood on the stool so that they could reach over.

The girl knocked on the suspicious fitting room door and saw the mobile phone was quickly being withdrawn. Not long after that, the Peeping Tom had the nerve to try and take more shots even while she was still standing outside. Seeing this, she quickly knocked on the door and shouted “Hello!” which must have startled the person hiding inside.

The pervert came out soon after that and to her surprise, it was one of the shop’s staff – and she recognised him as one of the workers who was supposed to manage the queue to the fitting room! She said that she wanted to interrogate the young man but since she wasn’t the victim, she could only wait until the girl who was trying on clothes came out of the room.

She told the victim everything and together, they went in search of the pervert to confront him. However, when confronted he said that he went inside the fitting room because he needed to adjust his belt and denied that he was trying to take videos of the other girl. They insisted that he should hand over his mobile phone to prove his innocence but he was reluctant to do so, saying that he couldn’t switch on his phone. Yeah, right!

By this time, they were causing a commotion and another female employee came over to see what was the issue. They went to the staff room to discuss but the pervert refused to hand over his phone until they threatened to report him to the police. He pleaded for leniency and said that he is 18 years old and still studying, asking them to give him a chance as it was his first offence.

But when they checked his phone, they were shocked to discover videos that he had taken of other women. Means this is not his first time! The pervert said that he was willing to pay compensation if they didn’t report him to the police but the victim said she would wait for her friend to arrive before making a decision.

When China Press checked on the shop, they informed them that they had already fired the male employee in question but refused to comment on the matter. The Johor police confirmed that a report has been made and have arrested the suspect for further investigations.

Oh dear, do be careful girls because there are so many perverts out there these days!
