It was reported that on the evening of 27 November, a 13-year-old boy tried to rob by pointing a knife and trying to stab a Grab driver before running away.

Thankfully, the driver wasn’t hurt as the boy only managed to stab the man’s seatbelt. The teen was arrested later on by the police but not before a clip of the scuffle had gone viral on several social media platforms.

In the newest update, the 13-year-old boy was charged in the Magistrate’s Court on 3 December with attempted robbery of a 65-year-old e-hailing driver at Taman Keladi, Sungai Petani, Kedah.

According to BERNAMA, he pleaded not guilty to the charge before Magistrate Khairatul Animah Jelani.

The charge under Section 393 of the Penal Code states that if found guilty, the perpetrator will be imprisoned for up to 7 years and is liable to a fine.

The court allowed the boy bail of RM4,000 with one surety set for 17 January 2024 for mention.
