A 16-year-old student from a school in Bandar Utama, Petaling Jaya, Selangor, tragically lost her life after being attacked by a Form 2 student yesterday (14 October).
Two sharp weapons were seized at the scene, where the suspect had used the weapons to stab other students, leaving them injured.

The public is advised to delete the content immediately
Following the incident, the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC) has urged the public to act responsibly and avoid sharing any photos or videos related to it.
In a statement, the commission also advised those who may have already uploaded such content to delete it immediately.
“We urge everyone to act responsibly and refrain from sharing, resending, or uploading any content, including photos or videos that show the victim, other students, or the location of the incident,” it said.

“Sharing such content could result in legal action”
MCMC stressed that sharing images or videos of the victim not only breaches the privacy of those involved but could also interfere with the ongoing police investigation.
They also reminded the public that taking or sharing such content could result in legal action under Section 233 of the Communications and Multimedia Act 1998 [Act 588].
“We extend our deepest condolences to the family of the 16-year-old student who tragically lost her life in the incident at a secondary school in Bandar Utama,” MCMC said.
While MCMC didn’t specify in the statement, the legal provision mentioned prescribes a fine not exceeding RM500,000, or imprisonment of up to 2 years or both for those convicted.
Offenders may also be liable to a further fine of RM5,000 for every day during which the offence is continued after conviction.
