There’s just something about 2000s music that feels comforting. We’ve been spoiled with concerts all year, but if you’re craving one that’s pure nostalgia and brings you straight back to the “good old days,” well, you’re in luck, peeps.

Secondhand Serenade is bringing the ultimate nostalgia wave to KL this 16 December 2025 with the Secondhand Serenade (Awake) 20th Anniversary A Second Symphony!

And honestly, this isn’t just another concert on the calendar. John Vesely is coming back to Malaysia for a night dedicated to the album that basically raised a whole generation: “Awake.” So get ready: this show is going to feel like stepping straight into the 2000s again.

Here’s the lowdown:

1. A nostalgic night made for sing-alongs, tears & throwbacks!

If you’ve only ever heard John Vesely through your MP3 player during your late-night emo phases, that’s about to change because this December, Secondhand Serenade is bringing your entire teenage soundtrack back to life with his 20th Anniversary concert of the iconic 2007 album, “Awake”, right here in KL!

Fun fact: twenty years ago, Awake wasn’t even meant to be this big. It started as a few songs written quietly in a room that somehow found their way across the world, and ended up being part of so many of our lives. Now two decades later, those songs return reborn as A Secondhand Symphony, a celebration and genuine thank you to every single voice that ever sang along.

Happening at the atmospheric Menara Ken, TTDI , the show promises an intimate, immersive night — the perfect backdrop to hear John Vesely pour his heart out all over again. And here’s the best part: many shows on this tour come with a special string arrangement section, giving these familiar tracks a cinematic upgrade.

2. A celebration two decades in the making!

John Vesely has been vocal about how personal this anniversary tour is for him, revisiting the cities that shaped his journey, reconnecting with fans who grew up with his music, and honouring an album that became a cultural timestamp for Millennials and early Gen Z.

And let’s be real: Malaysia has always held a special place for Secondhand Serenade. “Fall For You” wasn’t just a hit here; it became the anthem of the 2000s. It lived in karaoke rooms and those late-night dedications on radio. Wasn’t this the official theme song for crying over someone who didn’t text back? 👀

Expect a setlist filled with hits like Fall For You, Your Call, and more! No opening acts have been announced yet, but follow @lockupevents to keep an eye out for updates.

Whether you’re a long-time fan, a Millennial ready to relive your youth, a Gen Z discovering 2000s nostalgia for the first time, or simply someone who loves intimate, emotionally charged live shows, this concert is guaranteed to hit you right in the feels.

3. Jom fall for Secondhand Serenade all over again!
