Woman Gets Snarky Message from Friend Who’s Angry She Couldn’t Lend Them RM270

A woman’s sharing about a snarky message she received from her friend replying to her WhatsApp Story went viral recently, garnering over 780,000 views and more than 55,500 likes on TikTok recently.

The Indonesian woman, @renitareva_, took her to the platform to share the WhatsApp story she posted alongside a screenshot of the aforementioned friend’s message, who was mad at her for refusing to lend them money.

In the video, @renitareva_ can be seen bringing her toddler to an indoor playground in a mall and playing on the swings together.

However, the woman spending time with her child seemed to trigger her friend, who replied to her WhatsApp Story with a snarky remark questioning why she didn’t lend her money.

The friend asserted to @renitareva_,

“Oh, but you can go sightseeing? I just want to borrow IDR1 million (RM270), but you didn’t give me, and you’re still worked up asking me to repay the money I borrowed last month.”

In the TikTok post’s caption, @renitareva_ responded to the friend’s message, saying,

“Hello? Alhamdulillah, I got money to eat. Got money to buy skincare. Got money to go sightseeing. The only money I don’t have is to lend to you.”

Netizens share their 2 cents on the matter

In the comments section, many netizens, including Malaysians, criticised the woman’s friend for their snarky remark.

One commenter told @renitareva_ to continue posting videos of her going sightseeing to further enrage her friend.

Meanwhile, another commenter said that @renitareva_ can go sightseeing because she’s using her own money.

Besides that, one commenter said that friends are not a bank where you can lend money.
