A woman in Vietnam had a nightmarish birthday celebration that disfigured her face.
In a viral Facebook video, the 33-year-old Pham celebrated her birthday on February 14 and what was supposed to be a fun-filled moment turned horrifying when the hydrogen balloon in her hand exploded and caught fire, injuring her face.

Instead of sharing joy, Pham shared pictures of the aftermath on her face 6 days after the explosion on her post.
“I finally calmed down and decided to share this, hoping that everyone can learn from this.”
“This isn’t something I want happening on others, but please share this video to prevent this from happening again.”

The incident almost left a scar on Pham’s eye
Recalling the incident, Pham said she celebrated her birthday at a restaurant, and while the management of the place had prepared balloons, Pham took the liberty of adding the hydrogen balloons with her name printed on them.
She loved the balloons so much that she asked her friend to take another photo of her with it, which she dubbed “a big mistake.”
Pham held the hydrogen balloon in one hand and her birthday cake in the other, and she gently swayed the balloon which led to a fiery explosion when it came in contact with the candles.
Pham described the feeling as “a sharp stinging on her face and hand”, and she rushed to the washroom to wash her face. Her friends panicked and sent her to the hospital, where the doctor said she suffered second-degree burns on her face and first-degree burns on her hand.

“My vision is not severely affected but there are wounds on my eyelids.”
“The doctor estimated up to 6 months for my skin to recover. I still have to go to the hospital for dressing changes and treatment.”
If you can, opt for helium balloons as hydrogen is highly flammable.
