Preacher and philanthropist, Ustaz Ebit Lew has been riddled with controversy since alleged victims of sexual harassment came forward to highlight incidences involving him.

Now, another part of his life is being discussed online as his hypermarket brand, Elews Mart, has been shutting the doors of all their branches for the past month. Though, one aspect of the closures is catching people’s eyes.

Naratif Rakyat, took to their Twitter page to showcase Elews Mart’s statement regarding the closures, while also assuring that their debts will be paid by June of this year.

“In regards to this, our management would like to convey a thousand thank yous to everyone who was involved throughout with cooperation to ensure that the operation of our branches happened smoothly.”

“All overdue debts will be settled at the latest by June 30, 2024,” they wrote.

The reason for the closures were not stated in the statement.

Despite the closure of his hypermarkets, it appears that Ustaz Ebit Lew doesn’t have to worry much as he still has a hand in other businesses such as his cafe, Paramount Coffee House, and his clothing line, Elew’s Design and more.

Why do you think Elews Mart is closing down? Do feel free to share your thoughts in the comment section.
