Back then when we could travel around freely by just buying an aeroplane ticket and bringing our passport, one of the most annoying things is making sure that your luggage is within the allowed weight.

Normally, when you’re going to a country, you don’t face this problem but after buying tons of souvenirs and emptying racks in the process, going home is a problem.

So some of us resort to wearing multiple layers of clothes to make way for the items that we bring back.

For other people, they prefer to consume the goods that they have bought, such as these 4 travellers in China.

The 4 colleagues went to Kunming for a business trip and they chanced upon a good deal: 30kgs of oranges for only 50 RMB (RM33).

They bought the oranges and wanted to bring them back to their homes but when they got to the airport, they were informed that they need to pay an excess luggage fee.

The rate set is 10 RMB (RM6.50) for each kilogram and it totals at 300 RMB (RM197), which the 4 travellers say is “more than they could afford.”

Since they do not want to fork out that money, they stood beside trash bins and started eating the oranges.

“We just stood there and ate the whole thing up. It took about 20-30 minutes.”

According to Global Times, the 4 of them had ulcers in their mouths by the time they finished and vowed to never eat oranges again.

“We never want to have any oranges again.”

Chinese netizens were very amused by their feat and were a little puzzled as to why they did not separate the oranges into 4 parts so that they can be brought into the cabin.

Well, airports are certainly places where you can see a lot of entertaining things such as people downing bottles of alcohol and some women slapping on skincare.
