Flight meals generally cost more but at times when you need to fill an empty stomach, it can be a good option and they generally taste good too!

However, a tourist from Shanghai, China was not happy with the meal that she bought from a flight that recently departed from Bali, Indonesia to her homeland. In her Xiao Hong Shu platform, the woman dubbed the meal “a ridiculous airline meal”.

The tourist paid RM22 for a pack of Nasi Lemak… but the price was not her concern. Pictures are often for illustration purposes but to her, the Nasi Lemak that she purchased on the flight looked nothing like the picture.

Not only that but the woman was also not happy with how it tasted.

“The food really had nothing to do with the picture. The food tasted bad, the Sambal was tough to eat and the curry had too much of seasoning,” she ranted.

She added that she purchased a hamburger at the airport in Malaysia during the transition, which costed her RM28.

“The burger was worth more than the Nasi Lemak.”

Netizens, on the other hand, defended the Nasi Lemak and said it wasn’t as bad as she had described.

“This is delicious but it’s expensive.”

“Foreigners are not used to the taste but for the locals, it’s never enough.”

“I guess it doesn’t go well with your taste buds. We locals love it.”

If there is one thing that unites Malaysians, food really plays a huge role. Regardless, as a consumer, the tourist definitely has the right to express her feelings about the food. To those who have tried, what do you think?
