CCTV footage from a restaurant in Gurney Drive, Penang, reportedly captured a foreign man seemingly plucking his chest hair and putting it into his food while dining with a woman on 4 October.
The footage was later shared by an individual believed to be the restaurant owner, who claimed that the man subsequently complained about the food quality.

Foreigner reportedly refuses to pay RM30 bill after claiming there was “hair” in his food
The couple initially wanted to order fried chicken, but after being told it was sold out, they opted for char kway teow, an egg and a drink, bringing their total bill to around RM30.
However, CCTV footage reportedly showed the man seemingly reaching inside his shirt several times before putting something into his food.
According to Oriental Daily, the man later complained to the staff that there was “hair” in his kuey teow before refusing to pay the bill.
The restaurant manager said they only noticed the man’s suspicious actions after going back to review the CCTV footage.

“How can I pay for food of this quality?”
The manager claimed the couple got up and were about to leave while he and his staff were still checking the food. He then approached them and reminded them that they had yet to pay.
However, the man allegedly refused to pay, claiming that the food was of poor quality. He reportedly said, “How can I pay for food of this quality?” before leaving the restaurant with the woman.

Following the incident, the restaurant owner took to social media to warn other food and beverage operators about the pair, saying:
“Everyone should be careful of this couple. He pulled out his own hair and put it in the char kway teow, then said our food was of poor quality and left without paying.”
