Despite its higher fees, many Malaysians, especially those who drive expensive cars, opt to use the valet service of a building because it offers convenience and more importantly, tighter security to ensure that your beloved vehicles are safe.
However, that’s not the case for this Malaysian man who parked his white Honda HRV using the valet service at a mall in Kuala Lumpur.
A Honda HRV parked using a valet service in Kuala Lumpur was stolen
Going viral online with over 4,200 shares and 2,200 likes, the man, Zach Khai Shin took to Facebook to share how his crossover SUV was stolen after using the valet service!
Zach elaborated that he parked his Honda HRV for just half an hour using the mall’s valet service only to find it missing when returning to the vehicle.
He added that the valet service employees claimed that they had locked the car and turned off the engine. Zach also claimed that the 2 employees didn’t have any identification documents on them.
The stolen vehicle’s keys are still with the valet service despite it being stolen
What makes it perplexing is the fact that his car keys were still with the valet service, despite the Honda HRV being missing from the premises.
Zach asserted,
“The car was stolen here but they told me that they locked the car and turned off the engine.
“Then, how can the car be missing? The keys are still here and the car is gone.”
The car’s GPS showed that it was in Subang and the suspect had been apprehended
Thankfully, Zach shared that the car is equipped with GPS tracking, with its location being in Subang when the Facebook post was written.
The mall has since issued a statement on the car theft incident, saying that they have immediately launched a comprehensive investigation in cooperation with the authorities and the suspect has since been apprehended by the police.
The statement reads,
“Together with the police, we reviewed CCTV footage, which revealed that an unidentified individual entered the car and drove it away while the car key remained securely stored at the valet counter.”
“Utilising our CCTV footage and the car’s GPS system, the suspect has since been apprehended.”
We’re glad that the mall’s management worked quick!
