Although our politicians may seem serious most of the time, some of them are not afraid to display their funny sides and are known to troll or make fun of themselves from time to time.

Recently, MUDA President Syed Saddiq found himself in the spotlight for his badminton skills (or lack thereof).

In a video which was shared by Saddiq himself on November 5, he could be seen playing badminton doubles. However, in the video Saddiq appeared to be clueless as to what to do or where to position himself as his partner handled most of the shots coming their way.

The video ended as his partner accidentally hit the shuttlecock softly towards his back.

Maybe you shouldn’t have uploaded it?

The video shared by Saddiq has gone viral with many netizens criticising him for sharing his badminton ‘skills’.

“Try a different sports. Maybe take up bowling or golf.”

“If you don’t have the ability for sports, (you shouldn’t have) uploaded this video. The shuttlecock is mostly going to his partner, why is he moving like a monkey back and forth?” asked a netizen.

Another pointed out that it’s like when we were younger and when we used to play with friends who are perhaps less skillful. “We just let them on the court but the shuttlecock will never go towards them. This is the example.”

Promises to take classes to improve

It appears that all of the criticisms and cyberbullying has caught the attention of Saddiq himself who has since informed Malaysians that he is planning to go to badminton classes to improve.

What do you think? Should Syed Saddiq follow up on his promise and actually go for badminton classes?
