Travel and tourism industry is bouncing back

Developed by the World Economic Forum, the TTDI evaluates 119 economies based on critical factors for sustainable growth in the travel and tourism sector, including sustainability, infrastructure, and recovery from the impacts of COVID-19.

The study shows that while the travel and tourism sector continues to grow post-pandemic, the recovery has been mixed and operating conditions remain challenging.

However, as we roll through 2024, the global travel and tourism industry is set to bounce back from the lows caused by the COVID-19 pandemic and could even surpass its pre-pandemic highs.

Here is the list of Southeast Asian countries and their respective scores:

1. Singapore – 4.76

2. Indonesia – 4.46

3. Malaysia – 4.28

4. Thailand – 4.12

5. Vietnam – 3.96

6. Philippines – 3.84

7. Cambodia – 3.57
