It’s no surprise that the Movement Control Order and subsequent quarantine has caused people to spend more time online shopping. Day after day, we stand by our doors waiting for our parcels to arrive.

Unfortunately, an incident that happened yesterday might cause some parcels to arrive a little late. A Skynet lorry caught on fire in front of the Kajang Skynet office at Taman Industri Selesa Jaya, Balakong yesterday morning.

According to News Channel V2, the cause of the fire is believed to be a highly flammable acidic product that was sent by a seller.

Situations like these happen when the sellers are sending flammable products without declaring it to the courier company.

What can you do if your parcel is damaged during the delivery?

If your purchases and parcels have been affected by the delivery, not to worry, you can claim your losses. However, you need to have included the details of the delivery, photographs of both the damaged item and the packaging.

For Skynet customers, any damage or shortage must be reported in writing to Skynet within forty-eight hours from the date the consignment is delivered to the consignee. Or, if the item isn’t delivered, fourteen days from the date the shipment is handed over to Skynet.

Henceforth, let’s be careful with whatever products we buy online and do a thorough investigation before we click the “Purchase” button. As the situation above suggests, irresponsible buyers and sellers can cause extreme damages to a whole lot of people.
