A 57-year-old man in Singapore ended up losing SGD14,000 or approximately RM45,310 after his wife discarded his old clothes without checking with him first. As it turns out, one of the long-sleeved shirts that the wife threw away while cleaning the house had 14 SGD1,000 banknotes in the pocket. Yikes!

As reported by zaobao.sg, the man, known as Zhuo said that he has a habit of collecting SGD1,000 banknotes and managed to collect a few before the Singaporean government discontinued it last year. Zhuo, who works as a private hire driver said that he is still heartbroken by what his wife had done.

The man shared,

“One of the long-sleeved shirts had 14 $1,000 notes in the pocket… “I forgot to tell my wife that there were notes in the pockets of those clothes,”

The couple lives in Blok 116 Marsiling Rise in Singapore and the wife had thrown away the clothes into a rubbish bin on the ground floor. Zhuo has since made a police report regarding his lost banknotes but is aware that chances of recovering them are slim.
