When visiting a Ramadan bazaar, there are likely a list of items one has in mind when deciding what to buy and gorge on for the evening. With that being said, anything you get from a booth at the bazaar will cost you a pretty penny. Despite this, one stall in Padang Serai, Kedah, is making waves online for extending a small yet kind gesture to any passer by who needed ice or ice cubes.
In a TikTok video shared by a Malaysian content creator named Shafiq to his account @shafiqalsukri, the man revealed, to his delight, a stall at the Ramadan bazaar in Padang Serai which allowed anyone to take as many packets of ice cubes they needed for the entire fasting month.
The stall itself operated on a self-service basis, with some people crowding around to get themselves some ice cubes in the video. Getting out of the car, one man who accompanied Shafiq also went to take a bag of ice for himself, as he required it that day.
“May you receive immense blessings, brother. Thank you for sharing this with us. Whoever is in Padang Serai, you can find this stall in Taman Lagenda,” wrote Shafiq in the caption of his post.
Garnering immense praise for this noble act, many Malaysians expressed their gratitude towards the stall owner for providing ice cubes for free, with one user saying that while it may seem like a small gesture at first glance, it is very necessary during the Ramadan period, be it during the preparation of food and drinks or for breaking fast.
“It’s that easy to extend a hand of kindness to people. May you be rewarded for your kindness,” penned one commenter.
