Many of us use YouTube daily, and if you use the video-streaming application, you’re bound to know who Sonny Side is, or maybe you know the name of his channel, Best Ever Food Review Show, which has over 10 million subscribers.

It’s been 6 years since Sonny Side came to Malaysia, and in a recent video on his second channel, More Best Ever Food Review Show, it seems that he has come back to do a challenge.

The challenge in question is one where he needs to spend 100 USD (RM466.50) on street food in a day and he chose SS2 as his location.

In his video, he ate fried stingray, char kuey teow, chien, blood cockles (known locally as kerang or siham), rojak buah, chee cheong fun, burger, and a blackthorn durian.

This was Sonny’s first time trying blood cockles (they are banned in the US), so he ordered them medium-cooked. Speaking about the experience, he says that it does not taste like seafood but rather like “an oyster that’s flexing its bicep.”

He also tried his first blackthorn durian, to which he said, “That’s the good stuff, it’s custardy, it’s almost cheesy, intensely fruity and smelly. It’s wildly better than the ones in Vietnam.”

Concluding the video, Sonny mentioned that Malaysia has some of the most affordable street food in the world, and that’s a lot coming from a person who has travelled far and wide!

It seems he filmed more food content in our country, so we will patiently wait for them to be released!
