When times are tough, many who are unemployed have to adapt and find other ways to make a living.
Recently, a Facebook page known as, Puchong Jaya, shared the inspiring story of an OKU uncle who sells cookies and baked goods outside Hong Leong Bank in Puchong to support himself.
According to the post, the uncle used to work as a salesperson at a reputable company in Kuala Lumpur. However, in 2015, he met with a horrible accident at work that left him with a physical inconvenience. As a result, he was let go from his job.
But that didn’t stop this hardworking uncle from finding a way to earn for himself! Despite his physical injury, he picked up on baking and used his simple skills to bake a variety of delicious cookies and other goods so he could sell them to the public. If you stay around the Puchong area, you can find him right in front of Hong Leong Bank at Puchong Boulevard.
The uncle can be spotted sitting next to his humble set up of baked goods. A vast selection of goodies such as butter cookies, chocolate chip cookies, Almond London cookies, freshly baked butter buns, and many more can be found propped up on a simple table, with a sign that reads,
“All of us are born able to walk normally. I can’t now & also lost my job due to my work-accident in 2015. I now make Butter Cookies. Please buy.”
The post then urged citizens living in the Puchong area to support the uncle’s honest living. If the variety of goods aren’t enough to entice you, the uncle sometimes makes custom pastries! You can request for them via the contact details below:
