Just last week (May 2018), our former prime minister’s houses were raided by the cops at night. In the midst of bagging evidence, some of the cops allegedly helped themselves to the food and some chocolates that were in the fridge.

This incident reportedly ticked Najib off and the department director at Bukit Aman had urged the former premier to spill their names so that stern action can be taken on those choco-eating cops!

Right after the amusing incident went viral, a public event called ‘Jom Bagi Coklat Kat Abang & Akak Polis’ was created on Facebook. As the name suggests, it aims to give out chocolate to policemen at the Sentul district police headquarters on 26 May 2018. That’s this Saturday!

Here’s the description of the event.

“In conjunction with the month of Ramadhan, let us all give chocolates to hardworking cops who’ve done their best to keep our beloved country safe. If you can’t make it to the Sentul district police headquarters, you can deliver them to your nearest police station.

“Please deliver (the chocolates) to your local police station at the same time and day as stated. Then post your photos or videos on this page or your Facebook.”

The organisers plan to flood the timeline with heartwarming pictures and videos of police accepting chocolates from fellow Malaysians, thus bridging the gap between law enforcers and the rakyat. Sounds like a good initiative if you ask me.

This unique event has since sparked the interest of many, as over 1,000 netizens from Seremban, Puchong, Bangsar, Penang, Serdang and other places have shown their interest in joining. A hashtag was even created! #chocs4cops

The cops deserve all the chocolates in the world as lifting those heavy handbags and luggages into the truck ain’t easy man! Respek!
