Messi is one of the most famous footballers in our generation and it’s not surprising to see him on advertisements as he is quite influential. Back in late November, J&T Express announced that they’ve managed to rope in Messi as their global brand ambassador.
According to J&T Express Global Branding Director, Rachel Liu, she has mentioned that they’re, “honoured and excited to collaborate with Lionel Messi as his work ethic, humility and dedication perfectly aligns with the values that J&T Express upholds dearly.”
As part of his partnership with J&T Express, Messi will strive to promote greater awareness not only as a logistic provider but also as a one-stop e-commerce platform for all their consumers.
“Together with Messi, we hope that we will be able to elevate the brand’s prominence and spread greater awareness of J&T’s offerings and contributions in the logistic service value chain”, she said.
Following the news, many Malaysians were surprised to see an international football star becoming the ambassador and here’s what some of them said.
“I thought J&T is a Malaysian brand, I didn’t know it was globally known.”
A netizen commented saying that instead of spending so much on advertising, they should offer the advertising fees to the riders.
“When they’re able to perform well in their job, you’ll definitely gain recognition and then you won’t even need to advertise for anything anymore,” commented another user.
