A Malaysian netizen took to Facebook yesterday (22 May) to warn others after he almost fell victim to a road scam at 10.45pm. The incident happened at the multi-storey car park of Salak Tinggi ERL station, which is located between the Putrajaya & Cyberjaya station and the KLIA station.
Here’s what he wrote.
“Luckily, there was no car parked beside mine (at that time). I saw two nails leaning against the front tyre. If I really kena just now, my whole family would’ve been dragged into this.
“I’ve retrieved the nails using a tissue paper so as to not jeopardise the finger prints. I’ve handed over (the nails) to the management of ERL Salak Tinggi station for further action to be taken.”
The post has since went viral on social media with netizens expressing their shock over the incident. Some urged the victim to check with the management and see whether the building was under CCTV surveillance. Another netizen said his friend’s car was stolen at the same place too.
Judging from the placement of the nails, it’s most probably a road scam whereby a tow truck would be standing by somewhere down the road waiting for the car tyre to be fully deflated. It’s not the first case and will definitely not be the last as well.
So guys, better do a walk-around check before getting into your car as a punctured tyre could possibly crash the vehicle. Stay safe!
