Business is all about getting sales and closing deals. Sometimes, if a salesperson doubts that you’re able to buy anything, chances are they’re likely to prioritise giving their attention to potential customers.
A TikTok post by @leeroywong28 proves that NOT ALL salespersons are just after the figures. Leeroy recently visited a Machines store in KL to browse the products, and he was blunt about what he could afford.
“If I can’t afford to buy anything, will you still explain for me?”
The employee who served Leeroy was happy to entertain and explain all the products, despite knowing that Leeroy was nowhere near a potential customer. The employee certainly knew what he was doing and Leeroy was impressed with his product knowledge. He was surprised to find out that the employee has worked there for only 1 week.
When asked why is he still attentive after knowing Leeroy couldn’t afford to buy anything, the employee mentioned customers’ rights.
“Every customer has the right to get equal service.”
Leeroy then passed him a note and asked him to read it out loud. The content surprised the employee.
“I am going to see Taeyang and other performers at the Borneo Sonic Music Festival in Sarawak.”
The employee was still baffled and it surprised him when Leeroy gave him 4 tickets worth RM3,500 and told him to bring along his family or friends to the music festival. The salesman, who had just finished his Degree was happy to find out that he was lucky to win a trip to Sarawak.
He even appeared in the comment section of Leeroy’s TikTok post to thank him again and assured everyone that they will receive the same kind of professionalism if they visit him at the Machines store.

The employee’s professionalism and passion for keeping the customers happy should be an inspiration to our friends in the retail sector. Regardless, keep up the good work and we hope that those in the retail sector are willing to be attentive to everyone without bias.
