“So I had to make a decision”

Syafique, who’s popularly known as “Pos Wira” shares his personal tragedy, reminding us all just how important road safety is.

He shared that he got into an accident with a car that was overtaking another car coming from the opposite direction while he was out on a delivery.

When he got to the hospital, the doctor told him his leg was badly damaged and had to be amputated.

“My leg was destroyed. It was either I lose my leg or lose my life. So I had to choose,” he explained.

He also mentioned how he would often slip and fall at home, and how even simple tasks became difficult since losing his leg.

“I’m a person with permanent disabilities”

Syafique warns all motorcyclists that just one moment of not paying attention can change lives forever, urging everyone to stick to traffic rules to keep themselves and others safe.

“If the driver had followed the rules, maybe I’d have been able to swim again,” he added.

In Malaysia, speeding on the road claims more than 6,000 lives each year, leaving behind grieving families and lost futures.
