This man was only discovered dead a few days later because the neighbour could smell something bad!

According to Sinar Harian, the victim was staying at a flat in Taman Pauh, Bukit Mertajam when the cops found him. It was around 9.45pm and his body was found lying flat, with his head wrapped with a pillowcase. His name was Zahari Abdul Hamid, age 48, and he lived alone. Superintendent Mohd Mustafa Bidin of Seberang Perai noted that the police received a report from the victim’s neighbour who could no longer bear with the unpleasant odour coming from next door.

“When the police arrived, they found the grill locked. They called the fire department to break open the main door and found all the fans and lights switched on. Thereafter, they walked into the master bedroom and discovered the body laying on the floor. His hands and feet were tied with a wire and his head was covered with a red pillowcase”, noted the Superintendent.

The police also stated that the body was already bloated up and stank as he was believed to have died way before they found him.

“Further investigations found that his wallet and phone were not stolen but his house was messed up. Investigations are still going on in order to find the suspect that will be charged under Section 302”, he said.

The body has been brought to Seberang Jaya’s Forensic Unit for postmortem.
